Kate Middleton and Prince William made magic happen!

The Princess of Wales and the Princes of Wales, both 43, organized a visit to the set of the new Harry Potter television series for their three children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — on Friday, Sept. 26, according to the Daily Mail.

“It was so special,” a source who was on set during the royal visit between Kate and her kids told the outlet. (Prince William spent the weekend visiting King Charles in Scotland.)

“Kate and the children met the young actors and the director on the set. There was only one night of filming there, so it really was a magical ticket,” the insider added, referring to Dominic McLaughlin, who will play Harry Potter; Alastair Stout, who has been cast as Ron Weasley; and Arabella Stanton, who will portray Hermione Granger, plus Mark Mylod, who is directing.

The visit was extra special for Prince Louis, who the Daily Mail reported got to ride the Hogwarts Express. “He seemed to absolutely love it. It’s the dream for most children to step aboard the Hogwarts Express,” the on set source told the publication.

The royal family enjoys all aspects of the Harry Potter franchise, including the books, which were all crafted by J.K. Rowling, and the film series they inspired.

Back in 2013, when Kate was pregnant with Prince George, she and William paid a visit to The Warner Bros Studio Tour London. There, they had a wand duel and checked out Diagon Alley with Prince Harry.

The Harry Potter fandom within the royal family also extends to more members, as Queen Camilla and King Charles, 76, enjoy reading books from the popular franchise to Kate and William’s three kids.

During the first episode of The Queen’s Reading Room Podcast in 2024, Camilla, 78, said, “I can’t mimic voices for love or money, I’m completely hopeless at it. I was a really bad actor at school, and I’ve never been able to master the art of mimicry. But my husband, he does it brilliantly. He can do all the voices.”

The Harry Potter TV series is currently in production for HBO. Warner Bros. Discovery first announced its plans for the project in April 2023.

Bloomberg previously reported that each season of the show will be based on a single book, starting with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and ending with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Alongside the three child actors taking on the lead roles of Harry, Ron and Hermoine, it’s been announced that John Lithgow (Albus Dumblore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid) and Lox Pratt (Draco Malfoy) will also star, among others.

“We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way,” HBO and Max chairman and CEO Casey Bloys previously said in a press release about bringing Harry Potter back to life on TV.

The Harry Potter television series is anticipated to premiere on HBO in early 2027.
