Kate Middleton and Prince William thanked the team who worked hard to get them into their new home early by throwing a party at a local pub.
On Nov. 2, the Daily Mail reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43, held the celebration at The York Club on Friday night, amid their recent move to Forest Lodge in Windsor.
“The couple very sweetly just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has worked tirelessly to help,” a source told the outlet.
Prince William and Princess Kate reportedly served drinks and food at the private pub, a members-only club for residents and employees of the Crown Estate, as a way to thank the builders and staff who got them into their new house ahead of schedule.

Builders accelerated the family’s move-in date. The Prince and Princess of Wales initially planned to move from Adelaide Cottage to Forest Lodge before Christmas, but the schedule was revved up to get them in before Bonfire Night on Nov. 5. (Bonfire Night, or Guy Fawkes Night, is a British celebration marking the failed 1605 Gunpowder Plot. It features bonfires, fireworks, Guy Fawkes effigies and traditional treats like toffee apples.)
News of the family’s move was first reported on Nov. 1. The Telegraph reported that William and Kate moved in with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis’ during the children’s half-term break from school.

Forest Lodge has been described as the family’s forever home, where they plan to stay even after William becomes King.
The eight-bedroom Georgian mansion was an upgrade from the smaller Adelaide Cottage, also in Windsor Great Park. It serves as an opportunity for a fresh start following a turbulent few years that included the death of Queen Elizabeth in 2022 and cancer diagnoses of King Charles and Princess Kate in 2024.
The King’s treatment is ongoing, while the Princess of Wales shared in January that she is in remission.
“Every part of Adelaide Cottage, sadly, had an unpleasant memory associated with it,’ an insider told the outlet about the Wales family’s former home.

“It’s a lovely house and they started with such high hopes, but in the end they have experienced some of their most challenging times there as a family… Little wonder that William feels like it was cursed,” they said.
