Music City got plenty of nods in the 2026 Grammy nominations. From country to children’s music, current, former and honorary Nashvillians were celebrated on the Recording Academy’s list, announced Friday morning.

Country squire Tyler Childers led the genre’s pack with four nominations, including Best Country Solo Performance for “Nose on the Grindstone,” Best Country Song for “Bitin’ List” and Best Contemporary Country Album for Snipe Hunter. He also received a co-nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance with Margo Price for their duet “Love Me Like You Used to Do.”

Shaboozey, meanwhile, was nominated for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song for “Good News,” as well as Best Country Duo/Group Performance with Jelly Roll for “Amen.” Rising songsmith Jesse Welles, who recently won the Spirit of Americana Award at the Americana Honors and Awards ceremony, also got three nominations. Since the nominations were announced, artists and critics have noted that the country, roots and Americana categories are absent of seemingly any nominations for queer artists.

Taking another cue from the Americana Awards, where the song was crowned Song of the Year, I’m With Her’s “Ancient Light” was nominated for Best American Roots Performance and Best American Roots Song. Their album Wild and Clear and Blue was nominated for Best Folk Album. Though not recognized at the Americana Awards this year, Sierra Hull saw some love from the Recording Academy through nominations: Best Instrumental Composition for “Lord, That’s A Long Way,” Best Americana Performance for “Boom,” Best American Roots Song for “Spitfire,” and Best Bluegrass Album for A Tip Toe High Wire.

Beyond country, former Nashville rap scene player FYÜTCH and his daughter Aura V were nominated for Best Children’s Music Album for father-daughter record Harmony. Comedian Nate Bergatze was nominated for Best Comedy Album for Your Friend, Nate Bargatze, while songwriters Jessie Jo Dillon and Laura Veltz were nominated for Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical.

In the rock world, Dan Auerbach was nominated for Producer of the Year, with cited works including The Black Keys’ No Rain, No Flowers and Hermanos Gutiérrez and Leon Bridges’ “Elegantly Wasted.” Hayley Williams received three nods related to her album Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, including Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Song for “Glum,” and Rock Performance of the Year for the WNXP-premiered “Mirtazapine.”
