When “The Voice” fans tuned in for a third week of Knockout performances on November 10, 2025, one artist was inexplicably missing from the lineup, and his fellow contestants are not happy about it.

Celebrity coach Michael Bublé pitted team members Trinity and Jack Austin against each other, vying for a spot in the Playoffs. But NBC only aired half of the duel, sharing portions of Trinity’s mentorship session with Bublé and Mega Mentor Zac Brown, and part of her winning performance of Whitney Houston’s “I’m Your Baby Tonight.” Austin was merely shown sitting in the background in the episode, watching Trinity perform.
Trinity Says There’s No Excuse for ‘The Voice’ Omitting Jack Austin’s Performance
Austin, a 21-year-old college student at Western Michigan University, posted a lengthy social media message after the show, writing in part, “I’m extremely disheartened my Knockout performance was not aired even at all after countless hours of rehearsals and dedication.”
“But at the end of the day,” he continued, “I can confidently say that I finished my journey on the show extremely proud of all of the performances I gave. This is just the start and a stepping stone into something greater, whether that’s music related or how I’ve grown as a person.”

Trinity quickly jumped into the comments to support Austin, writing, “You deserved to be aired! We worked hard”
When a fan asked whether NBC provided an explanation for skipping over Austin, Trinity responded, “is there even a good explanation if there is one at all? No artist deserves to be made invisible when they had such a great performance.”

Other ‘The Voice’ Artists Get Behind Jack Austin: ‘Shouldn’t Have Been Cut’
Other season 28 contestants chimed in with support for Austin, too, including Team Niall’s Sadie Dahl, who wrote, “Jack you are truly such an amazing vocalist and person. To miss your knockout performance broke my heart but I know it was amazing and worth the air! Honored to share a season with you ”
Ava Nat, who lost to Dahl in their Knockout round, wrote, “Beautifully said. You’re truly so special as an artist and a person. Your journey on the show has shown just the beginning of your amazing career, and you’ve inspired me so much. I’m extremely grateful we met, and I’m so excited for all the incredible things you’re going to do. And your cover of This Town coming out? I’m definitely going to annoy everyone for a few weeks Love you Jack”

Liam Von Elbe, a member of Niall Horan’s team who lost out to Aiden Ross in his Knockout round, wrote, “Bro I’m so proud of you You worked so hard on this show and your performance shouldn’t have been cut like that. I think a lot of people would agree…”
Fans ‘Felt Cheated’ by Jack Austin’s Missing Performance
Austin took the high road in his post, expressing his gratitude to “The Voice” for the experience, and informed fans that the studio version of his Blind Audition song, “This Town,” is now available to stream, with new original music on the way soon.

Fans were glad for the chance to support him by downloading his song, but expressed dismay about Austin being cut from the episode, including one who wrote, “I was very disappointed that I didn’t get to see your Knockouts performance aired at all tonight, and when I saw you were eliminated from the competition, but you were one of my favorite artists this season’s Voice, and I can’t wait for what the future brings you!! ”

“I felt cheated when your knockout performance wasn’t shown on The Voice,” someone else commented. “Hoping you’ll be able to share it here at some point. Wishing you all the best in your musical career, you’re very talented.”
Although “The Voice” has published the performance videos of other artists who didn’t win their Season 28 Knockouts, Austin’s still hadn’t been posted on social media the afternoon after the episode aired.
