Country music superstar Luke Combs is redefining what success looks like, making the significant decision to scale back his demanding tour schedule to prioritize his growing family. At 35, the chart-topping artist has declared his intention to “slow the clock,” ensuring he is present for his wife, Nicole, and their three young children.
Combs, who turned 35 in March 2025, is consciously stepping away from the grueling pace of a major headline tour. Instead, his 2025 calendar has been intentionally cleared, reduced to approximately 20-25 select festival dates for the entire year.

This profound shift in philosophy was cemented by a specific, life-altering event: Combs was on tour in Australia in August 2023 when his second son, Beau Lee Combs, was born. Missing that milestone, which followed the birth of their first son, Tex Lawrence Combs, in June 2022, served as a catalyst for change.
Now, as the couple announced in September 2025 that they are expecting their third child “this winter,” Combs is ensuring he won’t miss out again.
“I wanted to get to the point where I could do that, and it not be career suicide,” Combs stated, reflecting on his ability to challenge the traditional country music model that demands constant touring while an artist is at their peak. He has been vocal about his desire to be a present father, stating he wants his sons to know that his “job is not more important than they are.”

While fans will see less of him on the road, Combs is not disappearing. He is strategically balancing his family-first schedule with his career commitments, which include releasing new music and launching his brand-new, multi-level entertainment complex and bar in downtown Nashville, Category 10. This approach allows him to remain a dominant force in country music while fundamentally restructuring his life around what matters most: his family.
