White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt recently shared some rare family photos.

Last week, Leavitt, 28, posted some fall-themed pics with her husband, Nicholas Riccio, 60. The pair brought their 1-year-old son, Niko, to the White House Halloween event, with the toddler dressed up as a pumpkin.

Elsewhere in her fall slideshow, titled “October was a treat!”, Leavitt and Riccio joined their son for trick or treat, donning their own orange-and-black outfits.

Leavitt and Riccio got engaged over the Christmas holiday in 2023 and welcomed their son, Nicholas Robert Riccio, nicknamed “Niko,” on July 10, 2024. They tied the knot in January 2025, just days before President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.

In a February 2025 interview on The Megyn Kelly Show, Leavitt opened up about her marriage, which some may find unconvtentional due to the 32-year age gap.

“He is my greatest supporter, he’s my best friend and he’s my rock,” she raved of Riccio, a real estate developer. “He’s built a very successful business himself so now he’s fully supportive of me building my success in my career.”

Who Is Karoline Leavitt's Husband? All About Nicholas Riccio

The couple met when Leavitt was running for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022. She lost the seat, but ultimately gained a partner.

“A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband,” she recalled of meeting Riccio. “I was speaking. We met and we were acquainted as friends. And then we fell in love.”

When pressed by Kelly, Leavitt admitted that she did have some hesitation about their age gap at first. “I mean, it’s a very atypical love story, but he’s incredible,” she said.

“He’s the father of my child, and he’s the best dad I could ever ask for,” she continued. “And he is so supportive, especially during a very chaotic period of life… I say, ‘I walked into your life and it’s been a circus ever since,’ but God bless him because he’s fully on board.”

Tragic Details About Karoline Leavitt's Decades-Older Husband Nicholas Riccio

Leavitt told Kelly that her millionaire husband is nothing but supportive of all she does — though she’s previously explained that she doesn’t feel the need to show him off on social media.

“He’s an introvert (complete opposite of me),” she told followers. “I respect his privacy on here—but he’s my number one fan, the best dad, and just the best man I’ve ever met.”

Leavitt has recently faced some controversy about her attitude toward certain members of the press.

On Oct. 20, the press secretary posted a private message between herself and HuffPost White House correspondent S.V. Dáte in which he asked about a planned meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Who suggested Budapest?” Dáte asked of the meeting location, noting the city’s significant history in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“Your mom did,” Leavitt replied.

The White House correspondent responded to the remark by asking if the topic was “funny” to Leavitt.

Karoline Leavitt's Husband Nicholas Riccio Has His Own Strange Connection To Politics

“It’s funny to me that you actually consider yourself a journal [sic],” she shot back. “You are a far left hack who nobody takes seriously, including your colleagues in the media, they just don’t tell you that to your face. Stop texting me your disingenuous, biased, and bull— questions.”

Karine Jean-Pierre, press secretary under President Joe Biden, criticized the “inappropriate” exchange during a recent appearance on The View.

“I just feel like it is not appropriate to do online trolling and attack people in that way,” Jean-Pierre said. “It doesn’t help with the partisanship that we’re seeing right now. And also, that is not what the White House is supposed to be about. It’s supposed to be about every American person, every voter, every citizen, that lives in this country and participates.”
