Meghan Markle’s wealthy pal’s bookshop faces being “reported to the council” for serving her As Ever wine without a license. Meghan announced that she was unveiling her first “pop up” for her brand As Ever at the Godmothers bookshop in California last week.

In addition to being situated close to her Montecito mansion, the bookshop is also run by two of her close friends: literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and cosmetics mogul Victoria Jackson. Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Meghan was keen to show off the decorative display, which featured many of her As Ever products, such as her fruit spreads and candles.
Despite the eye-catching display, many viewers of a video posted by a customer to social media noticed something that may cause a major problem for Meghan.

The video showed what appeared to be an opened bottle of Champagne perched in a bucket of ice, while another box featured seemingly showed a display of a trio of As Ever wines.
The possible problem pending could be due to a major law in California which states that businesses must have an Alcoholic Beverage License to be able to sell alcohol on or off the premises legally.
The Daily Mail has revealed that whilst Godmothers applied for the license in June 2024, it is yet to be approved.
After spotting the video, one fan commented: “Report godmothers to the licensing officials”.

Another added: “Someone from America should report this business for not having a alcohol license”.
Meghan’s products are available to buy via her website asever.com, it is the first time that fans have been able to shop the selection of products in person.
Meghan, a doting mum to six-year-old Prince Archie and four-year-old Princess Lilibet, launched her brand back in March, with the first launch proving to be highly successful.
