olly Parton’s Imagination Library is now available for all children under age 5 in Glenn County. The program provides free, high-quality books to young children, fostering a love of reading.
The launch event will take place on Saturday, December 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Orland Free Library on Mill Street. Families can enjoy refreshments, activities and sign up for the program. Children under 12 will receive a free book.

Angela Brinkman, Executive Director of First 5 Glenn County, emphasized the program’s impact. “When children read early and often, they develop the language, confidence, and imagination to thrive—and we’re thrilled to finally make that possible in Glenn County,” said Brinkman.
To register, visit the Imagination Library website or attend the launch event. Books arrive about eight to 10 weeks after registration.
Support for the program comes from The Dollywood Foundation, local partners, and a 50% State Match. To support the program, visit this website to help provide free books to children in the community.
