The 2025 Grammy Awards nominations are out, and three Texas artists are representing the Lone Star State in the best traditional country album category: Willie Nelson for “Oh What a Beautiful World,” his son Lukas Nelson for “American Romance” and Charley Crockett for “Dollar A Day.”
Willie Nelson’s “Last Leaf on the Tree” is also nominated for best Americana album.

This is Texas country legend Willie Nelson’s 57th Grammy nomination. He has already earned 12 wins, including a lifetime achievement award in 1999. This marks San Benito-born, Austin-based Charley Crockett’s second Grammy nomination. His 2024 release “$10 Cowboy” earned a nomination in the best Americana album category.
Willie’s son Lukas Nelson earned his first individual Grammy nomination this year. He shared two nominations in 2019 for production work on his father’s 68th release “My Way,” a Frank Sinatra tribute which was up for best traditional pop vocal, and for production on Willie’s song “Last Man Standing,” which was nominated for best American roots performance.
Lukas also scored a Grammy win that year as part of the team behind the “A Star Is Born” movie soundtrack, which won best compilation soundtrack for visual media.
