The Late Show host Stephen Colbert mused that “almost everybody” dashed to help a Big Pharma exec who fainted during a drug pricing reform presser at the Oval Office, seizing on a still photo of President Donald Trump’s reaction that he said was “worth a thousand words.”

During the Oval Office event Thursday, as the president announced agreements with Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk to lower the price of some GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, Novo Nordisk executive Gordon Findlay suddenly collapsed.
Colbert rolled the clip as he closed out his monologue to open Thursday night’s show.
“I’m sure that was scary. But thankfully, the room was full of exactly who you want in a medical emergency: pharmaceutical executives,” Colbert cracked, adding: “Quick! Quick! Someone maximize shareholder value!”
Colbert also noted how fast people in the room reacted to the emergency.

“And again, he’s OK. Honestly, it was good to see everybody rushed to help him,” he said.
“Well, almost everybody,” he added. “Because this photo’s been going around. Take a look at this photo, this viral photo from after the fainting. Look at that.”
The Getty image showed aides and other executives rushing down to the floor to help Findlay. The President is standing separately, looking on, hands loosely at his sides, not moving toward the commotion.
“That picture is worth a thousand words,” Colbert concluded, before he quipped: “None of which I can say on CBS.”
