“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night said he experienced an unfamiliar sensation after Democrats swept nearly every major race in this week’s elections in what was widely seen as a rebuke for President Donald Trump.
“Tonight, my heart is full of something I have not felt in almost a year,” he said. “And that is … good?”
Colbert looked at several of the Democrats’ key wins, especially that of Zohran Mamdani, who took the race for New York City mayor and delivered what Colbert called “a special message” just for Trump.
“So Donald Trump, since I know you’re watching, I have four words for you,” Mamdani said.
Colbert cut him off to insert four words of his own.

“Your ballroom’s gonna suck!” he said.
Trump demolished the White House East Wing to make way for a massive $300 million ballroom.
Mamdani’s actual words: “Turn the volume up.”
