WASHINGTON, DC – JUNE 11: Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) questions witnesses during a roundtable discussion on Supreme Court Ethics conducted by Democrats of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee at the Rayburn House Office Building on June 11, 2024 in Washington, DC.

WASHINGTON (TNND) — U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said Monday that Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, is threatening lives with her comments on Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency.
The congresswoman said during an interview last week that Democrats can win elections in Texas if they “punch,” noting that Sen. Cruz needs to be “knocked over the head, like, hard.” She also told the attendees of a virtual rally against Tesla earlier this month that all she wants to see on her birthday is Musk being “taken down.”
She’s using her public persona, her public platform, to increase her followers, to increase her significance, and she is threatening lives, safety,” Bondi said during an interview with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity.
The attorney general also agreed with Hannity that Rep. Crockett’s comments are threats of violence. During the congresswoman’s interview on Lone Star Politics, a show produced by NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth and The Dallas Morning News, she suggested that Colin Allred, the Democratic candidate for Sen. Cruz’s seat last year, needed to “punch” harder in his campaign.

“I think – and I love Colin, and I think towards the end, he started to punch a little harder. But like, it’s Ted Cruz! I mean, like, this dude has to be knocked over the head, like, hard, right?” Rep. Crockett suggested. “Like, there is no niceties with him. Like, at all. Like, you–you go clean off on him, right?”
Bondi said she expects the congresswoman to be censured by Congress for that comment. The attorney general also called on Rep. Crockett to denounce violence related to Tesla, of which Musk is the CEO and has been the victim of attacks and protests, and apologize for her rhetoric about Musk.
The congresswoman said during a rally held by “Tesla Takedown,” which describes itself as a peaceful protest movement against Tesla, on March 19 that she wants to see Musk “taken down.”
“I am truly here for very selfish reasons, starting with: On March 29th, it’s my birthday, and all I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down. Yes!” Rep. Crockett explained.
She added that the protesters are fighting for democracy and “freedoms,” noting that she is using the word “fighting” figuratively.
“Obviously, everything that I am promoting is nonviolent. And so, definitely don’t want anyone to take that word literal in any way, but I think that it is important that we say that we stand for freedom in this country, we stand for our constitution in this country,” Rep. Crockett said.
Her office, which told The National News Desk the congresswoman is aware of Bondi’s comments, said Rep. Crockett would “NEVER incite or wish violence on any one person or corporation.”
“As a member of Congress, she will remain focused on the work of ensuring our communities, especially in TX-30, have the needed resources to thrive, grow, and remain safe,” the office added.
