Season 28 of The Voice is undergoing a series of schedule changes on NBC, affecting both its Monday and Tuesday airings. The singing competition show, which began airing in September, originally had just two episodes per week: a two-hour episode on Mondays and a one-hour episode on Tuesdays.

Some Tuesday episodes were later extended to two hours, but the channel recently began prioritizing NBA basketball games on Tuesday nights.
As a result, The Voice will no longer air on Tuesdays and has also reduced its Monday runtime. Starting Monday, November 3, the show will air for just one hour, from 9am to 8am. Episodes for November 3 and November 10 have been confirmed to air in this new time slot.
Ahead of The Voice, NBC will air two 30-minute episodes of St. Dennis Medical on November 3, followed by Brilliant Minds. That will continue next week, with St. Dennis Medical and The Paper airing before The Voice and Brilliant Minds. It’s unclear how long the one-hour program will run after November 10.
The Tuesday time slot is still reserved for NBA basketball games, and the network doesn’t expect The Voice to return on Tuesday until the finale, which is rumored to take place on Tuesday, December 16. The two-part finale traditionally features performances on Monday night, with the results announced the following evening.

Knockout Round: Top 32 compete
The show is currently in its Knockout Round, with the top 32 contestants competing. In this round, each coach—Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, and Snoop Dogg—will pair up eight of their singers to compete against each other. Each contestant will choose a favorite song, and after each performance, the coaches will choose a winner to move on.
Notably, the playoffs don’t have Steals or Saves, making it more competitive than ever. This season also introduces a new feature: the Mic Drop Button, which allows each coach to highlight a performance they feel deserves special recognition.

After the playoffs, four contestants selected by the coaches will have the opportunity to perform live at The Rose Parade on January 1, 2026, and America will vote on the final selection. At the end of the playoffs, each coach will have four remaining artists on their team, who will advance to the Playoffs.
The first three Knockout performances of this season aired in the second half of the October 27 episode. Contestants had a variety of song choices, and the coaches judged the performances based on vocal control, emotion, and stage presence.
