“It’s been pretty emotional down there recently, with everything that’s going on with Ves,” Dodgers pitcher Emmet Sheehan told The New York Times’ The Athletic after the team’s game three win on Oct. 27. “We were thinking of him all night.”

Indeed, the team has kept Vesia close to their hearts over the past several days. In fact, many of his teammates wore his number (51) on their hats during recent games.
“With him not being here, I think it was just a matter of showing that we’re united with him and Kayla at this time,” pitcher Jack Dreyer recently said, via Newsweek. “It’s just the little thing that we could do to show him that we care and we’re thinking about him. We could really use him here, but at the end of the day, we’re a family. So we’re going to help support him however we can.”
