The beloved 2001 sitcom Reba, created by Allison M. Gibson, ran for six seasons on WB and then on CW, until 2007. The show stars country singer Reba McEntire as Reba Hart, showcasing her struggles while dealing with her family as a divorcee. The sitcom gained a lot of fans during its original run, thanks to its heartfelt humor and Reba McEntire’s charismatic performance as a resilient single mother. Now, after an 18-month stint on Netflix, the show is leaving the platform soon.
Why is Reba leaving Netflix, and when?
The first 5 seasons of the sitcom aired on The WB from 2001 to 2006. However, a merger between The WB and UPN resulted in the formation of The CW, where the sitcom’s final season aired. Today, the broadcasting rights of the show remain with 20th Century Fox, which was acquired by Disney in 2019.

Netflix added Reba to its vast library of movies, TV shows, and documentaries in May 2024. According to the streaming deal, Netflix can only stream the sitcom until November 5, 2025. Hence, Reba will not be available on Netflix from November 6, 2025. However, it will continue to stream on Hulu, as Disney owns the streaming platform.
The plot of the show follows Reba Hart, played by Reba McEntire, whose husband leaves her for his dental hygienist. The sitcom showcases Reba’s daily struggles as she deals with her ex-husband, Brock, and his new wife, Barbra Jean. The sitcom contains some of the most hilarious scenes of 2000s sitcoms, especially with the plots of Steve Howey as Cheyenne’s lover, Van Montgomery. Additionally, Reba and Barbra Jean’s unlikely friendship adds a wholesome twist to the sitcom.

Although Reba will leave Netflix on November 6, 2025, as its streaming license expires, viewers can continue streaming it on Hulu.
