Michael Buble has pulled out of the BBC Music Awards, days after learning his three-year old son has cancer.

Buble announced his son’s diagnosis last Friday, saying he and his wife would cancel future engagements to concentrate on “helping Noah get well”.

The BBC Music Awards, on 12 December, were among the first commitments in his diary for the upcoming weeks.

“We send Michael and his family our very best wishes,” said BBC Music director Bob Shennan.

Buble is also due to host the Brit Awards in London on 22 February and the Canadian equivalent, the Juno Awards, in Ottawa on 2 April.

No decision has been made about these appearances.
