Dodgers Eye Blockbuster Addition: Report Says Team Will Pursue 4-Time All-Star This Offseason. lt

The Los Angeles Dodgers are four wins away from their second straight World Series title but even that doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop the organization from adding even more firepower.

It’s been known that the Dodgers have the most aggressive front office in baseball. After winning the World Series, they followed up it by bringing guys like Blake Snell and Rōki Sasaki to town while also re-signing Teoscar Hernández.

The offseason isn’t here for Los Angeles yet, but reports already are starting to surface about who could be a potential option to be the Dodgers’ next star. The New York Post’s Jon Heyman weighed in and reported that the Dodgers will pursue four-time All-Star Kyle Tucker in free agency this winter.

“Will the rich get richer? The Dodgers are expected to make a play for No. 1 free agent Kyle Tucker, who’d fit nicely into the National League’s best lineup,” Heyman wrote. “Dodgers people are said to love Tucker, and the outfield is their one area of less than great strength. While their payroll is already an MLB-record $400M, they did try for last year’s No. 1 free agent, Juan Soto, with an offer of about $600M (with deferrals, of course) before bowing out and finishing fifth among five finalists in the biggest free agent derby ever.

“The Dodgers could install Tucker in right field and move Teoscar Hernández to left, giving them a potentially productive outfield to go along with the game’s most star-studded infield. The one tiny negative is that Tucker is a left-handed hitter, which would make them slightly unbalanced.”

Wouldn’t that be something? Tucker is this year’s big-money free agent, following in the footsteps of Juan Soto last year and Shohei Ohtani the year before. Even in a somewhat down year in 2025, he had 22 homers, 73 RBIs, and 25 stolen bases in 136 games played. Imagine that production in the Dodgers’ lineup as well as their other stars?
