Was Taylor Swift at the Chiefs game Sunday night?
That’s the very simple question that millions of the popstar’s fans have asked about 17 times a year since Swift first showed up to Arrowhead Stadium to watch Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in September of 2023.
As the focus of the whole NFL world turned to Kansas City for the huge Chiefs vs. Detroit Lions game in primetime, the question about Swift’s attendance was once again at the forefront.
The answer? Yes, Swift was shown on NBC in the first quarter and several times throughout the game in a suite alongside WNBA star Caitlin Clark.
Swift keeps her personal life and where she’ll be going very close to the chest, but for just the second time this year, has been spotted at a Chiefs game.
Here’s what we know about Taylor Swift at the Lions-Chiefs game:
Was Taylor Swift at the Chiefs game tonight?
Yes, Swift was shown in the first quarter on NBC in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium for Chiefs-Lions. She was spotted hugging Ed Kelce, her future father-in-law, and was standing in the box with WNBA star Caitlin Clark.
Taylor Swift’s appearance at Chiefs game vs Lions comes as slight surprise
For whatever reason, Swift has largely stayed out of the limelight during the 2025 season at NFL games, at least compared to the last two years. According to Yahoo, Swift has only attended two of the Chiefs’ games this year, and both were at home at Arrowhead Stadium. She did not go to their last game on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is now the third game that she has been to this year, though she wasn’t publicly visible for the game on Sept. 14 vs. the Philadelphia Eagles.
In addition, Swift has a planned announcement on “Good Morning America” on Monday that the show announced on social media Sunday morning. GMA starts at 7 a.m. in New York City and the Chiefs-Lions game won’t end until just before midnight ET (see what we did there?), so it could be a long night if she is going in person.
However, the show was quite vague about what the announcement will be and whether Swift will be making it herself.
Sunday Night Football highlights Taylor Swift-Detroit Lions connections
On the NBC pregame show for Sunday Night Football, they took a few seconds to talk about Taylor Swift and a few of her connections with the Lions. She performed at Ford Field in 2023 for the Eras Tour, and Lions stars Aidan Hutchinson and Jared Goff showed some love for T-Swift on social media. Plus, her history with Lions coach Dan Campbell goes all the way back to 2006 when she stood next to Campbell on the sideline at Ford Field before a game.
Taylor Swift history with Lions and Jared Goff
Swift made some headlines in Detroit this past August when she gave Lions QB Jared Goff a random shoutout on her appearance on the “New Heights” podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce.
Swift said that she knew so little about football when she first started watching that she had no idea what was going on and through Goff in the mix.
“I thought it was like, Jared Goff is here, and Josh Allen’s here,” Swift said. “They’re gonna be like, they blow a whistle, and they go at each other, and they’re like ‘grrrr,’ and it’s like, who’s gonna win?”
The shoutout caught a lot of people off guard and it seemed to catch Goff off guard, too. Back in August he was asked about the random shoutout.
“Very cool, I guess,” Goff said. “Crazy couple of hours last night for me and my phone. Kinda cool.”
