The Princess of York is ninth in the Royal Family’s line of succession’

Princess Beatrice is celebrating her 37th birthday with her family today.

It is the royal’s first birthday since her youngest daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose, was born making the occasion extra special.

Athena is 11th in line to the throne, behind her elder sister Sienna, and is the fourth grandchild of the Duke of York and his ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York.

Princess Beatrice is not expected to make a public appearance today.

Princess Beatrice is celebrating her 37th birthday with her family today.

Instead, she will spend the day with her husband, Edoardo Mappelli Mozzi and their two daughters.

Last week, Princess Beatrice represented the Royal Family at the parade celebrating England’s victory in the Women’s European Championship.

The Princess of York was pictured in the crowd that had gathered at Buckingham Palace to cheer on the Lionesses following their triumph.

Beatrice was joined by her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and their two daughters, Sienna and Athena.

The outing marked the first time Athena had been seen in public since her birth in January 2025.

Princess Beatrice is not expected to make a public appearance today.

Edoardo’s son and Beatrice’s stepson, Wolfie, also joined them at the parade. Edoardo announced Athena’s birth on Instagram in January, describing his daughter as “tiny and absolutely perfect”.

The King, the Queen and other members of the Royal family were said to be “delighted” with the news.

No working members of the Royal Family were present at the victory celebration at Buckingham Palace this afternoon.

Princess Beatrice does not have an official working role within the monarchy.

However, she does undertake many public engagements in her roles as Patron of many different charities.

Last week, Princess Beatrice represented the Royal Family at the parade celebrating England’s victory in the Women’s European Championship.

In July, the Princess of York was named the newest royal patron of the Chartered College of Teaching.

The role was previously held by her late grandfather, Prince Philip.

Princess Beatrice said in a statement: “To me, the power that teachers have on shaping lives and transforming futures makes it one of the most commendable and highly regarded professions.

“I’m a passionate believer in the vital role that teachers play every day and know firsthand the impact that great teaching can leave on a child and their family.

“It’s a real honour to take up the role as Patron of the Chartered College of Teaching, a role previously held by my grandfather.

“I’m really excited to support the College’s mission to champion excellence in teaching and to celebrate the impact of this incredible profession.”
