There must be something about Tampa Bay that turns 49ers players and personnel against each other.

According to several reporters, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan and star wide receiver Jauan Jennings had to be physically separated from each other on the sidelines as the Niners were driving on offense at the end of the first half.

CBS didn’t show the shouting match on their telecast and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson didn’t ask Shanahan about the incident in a quick interview once halftime started. But several reporters covering the Niners saw the back-and-forth from the press box, and Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area and Cam Inman witnessed the incident and provided details on social media.

Bay Area News Group reporter Cam Inman said Shanahan yelled at Jennings twice during the final offensive drive, during which Jennings didn’t play at all. According to Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area, wide receivers coach Leonard Hankerson had to push Jennings away from Shanahan after the second time the head coach yelled at the receiver.

The 49ers were able to drive down and kick a field goal before halftime, and Inman reported offensive lineman Trent Williams was talking to Jennings as he walked off the field to the locker room.

Last season’s sideline incident in the hot Florida weather saw then-49ers receiver Deebo Samuel yell at Jake Moody after the kicker had three missed field goals. When long snapper Taybor Pepper intervened, Samuel pushed at Pepper’s throat.

Jennings was questionable to play on Sunday with rib and ankle injuries, but was active for Sunday’s game. So far, he hasn’t been targeted once. The 49ers trail the Buccaneers 20-16 at halftime.
