Kylie Kelce admired Caitlin Clark’s decision not to wear a Colts jersey, praising her loyalty to her childhood favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs

Kylie Kelce already admired Caitlin Clark‘s game and has even flirted with the idea of owning a WNBA franchise in Philadelphia, but the wife of retired NFL center Jason Kelce respects her loyalty even more after the Fever star’s latest NFL appearance.

The ex-Iowa mega star and Indiana Fever guard seemingly and politely declined to wear a custom Indianapolis Colts jersey during a pregame ceremony at Lucas Oil Stadium. The moment caught Kylie’s attention, who praised Clark’s decision on the latest episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast.

“Speaking of the WNBA, I’ve just been given yet another reason to be a fan of Caitlin Clark,” Kylie said. “Here’s the deal. Very kind of the Colts organization to give a customized jersey. This is customary. I’ve seen it happen to my husband many times. I co-signed this decision very hard. I think that Caitlin nailed this. I think that when you are raised a diehard fan of a team, this is the only appropriate response to being given a jersey of another team.”

That fandom was also supported by Clark’s Fever teammate Sophie Cunningham.

The Colts played against the Las Vegas Raiders and won 40-6 to advance to 4-1.

Before the game started, the organization invited Clark, Aari McDonald, Makayla Timpson, and Natasha Howard onto the field to celebrate the Fever’s journey to the 2025 WNBA semifinals.

Each player received a personalized Colts jersey with their WNBA number stitched on the back, with Clark getting her famous No. 22 jersey number. McDonald and Timpson wore their jerseys immediately for photos, while Clark smiled, held hers up, and kept it off.

The Colts’ official X post showed Clark in a casual look with a cropped white tee and baggy jeans. Instead of rocking the jersey, she kept it in her hand and turned it to the back to feature her name while posing with her teammates. She even spoke to Jason Kelce in the past regarding her KC fandom.

The clip quickly went viral and racked up millions of views as fans zoomed in on her face and her refusal to wear the blue.

While some called out Clark for throwing shade, her gesture was all about loyalty. Clark was raised in West Des Moines, Iowa, and has been a passionate Chiefs supporter since she was a child. She made her fandom clear during a rare appearance on the Manningcast, where she was even shown in an old photo rocking Chiefs’ gear as a kid.

“I’ve been a Chiefs fan since I was a young girl,” she said back in 2023. “My brother was a Chiefs fan, my dad was a Chiefs fan. I had cousins in Kansas City that were Chiefs fans.”

Clark has appeared at Arrowhead Stadium on several occasions in Chiefs gear, often sitting in a suite next to Taylor Swift or Brittany Mahomes as the pop star cheers on her soon-to-be-husband, Travis Kelce.

The Colts and Chiefs have one of the AFC’s quieter but long-standing rivalries. They have met 28 times, including five postseason matchups.

Indianapolis holds the overall edge at 18-10, with playoff history tilting toward the Colts, including dramatic wins in 2004 and 2014. For Clark, her allegiance to Chief’s Kingdom won’t even bend for a photo op.
