Drake Maye and the New England Patriots notched a huge win on Sunday Night Football in Week 5.
The Patriots topped the Bills, 23-20, on Sunday Night Football. New England improved to 3-2 on the season with the win. The Patriots, led by first-year head coach Mike Vrabel, are looking like a contender in the AFC East.
Both Maye and his go-to wide receiver, Stefon Diggs – who had 10 catches for 146 yards – had big games.
“I’m proud of both of them,” Vrabel said postgame. “Being able to emotionally come back here for Stef and being in this thing all week — a really good leader for us … And I think just a really gutty performance from Drake. I just continue to enjoy watching him grow and lead this football team.”

Diggs was impressed with Maye, who started his first primetime game and recorded his first win over a team above .500.
“I saw a young quarterback take a step in the right direction,” Diggs said of Maye’s performance. “They did a lot of comparisons during the week, and I feel like it’s a hell of a comparison to be compared to Josh Allen. But as you come into your own, Drake Maye has to be Drake Maye. I was just so proud of him coming in here and leading the team.”
Drake Maye’s wife, Ann Michael Maye, immediately took to social media to weigh in on her husband’s big win.
“LFG,” she wrote on social media. We don’t need to translate that for you.

It’s still very early in the season, and it was just one win, but it was a big step in the right direction for Maye and the Patriots.
Vrabel’s team has a lot to be encouraged with moving forward.
