Prince Harry would “love” to return to one of the Royal Family’s most iconic homes, an ex royal butler has revealed. Since quitting royal life in 2020 and relocating to America, the Duke of Sussex has returned to the UK on only a handful of occasions.
On such visits, the prince, 40, has tended to simply attend the event he is in the country for and leave. He also seems to stay in hotels during such visits, with the location of these not being publicly disclosed. However, one royal insider has now said that he thinks if he has the chance, Harry would love to stay at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

This residence is where the royals tend to flock to in summer for some quality time together – something Harry was once part of.
Speaking to GB News, former royal butler Grant Harrold – who served King Charles when he was the Prince of Wales between 2004 and 2011 – said: “I think Harry would probably love to spend time at Balmoral. This is just my view.
“I think he would love to go up there and be on the farm in his element. I just don’t know with everything that’s gone on, because it could be awkward.”
Mr Harrold also said that Balmoral is “Harry’s kind of place”, especially as it is where royals can “just be themselves”.
While the Royal Family did gather at the Scottish castle this summer for some quality time together, it is believed most of the royals are now back in their usual residences as summer comes to an end.
Although Harry will be in the UK next week for the Wellchild Awards, it is not believed he will go to Balmoral, with the prince instead likely to stay in the London area.
However, it has been reported that the prince could meet his father King Charles on his upcoming visit.
This would be the first time the father and son, who are believed to have had a turbulent relationship over the last few years, will have seen each other since February 2024.
