The Chicago Sky player opens up about wanting to sharpen her acting tools and insists on hiring an acting coach.
“I want to get an acting coach,” she told the outlet at the New York Film Festival premiere of the film.
Reese revealed she’s already thinking about how to level up her new acting journey and she’s getting advice from some seasoned names.
“I was talking to Common. He’s overseas right now shooting season 2 of ‘Silo’ and he was telling me, ‘You got to hire an acting coach,’” she shared.
It’s advice she’s taking seriously. The 23-year-old said she plans to do just that, adding with a confident grin that she’s focused on expanding her skill set early.
“I model already, so it’s like adding to the resume,” she said.
“I’m young right now, so I’m going to do it while I’m young.”
The businesswoman may exude confidence on the court, but she admitted stepping onto a film set was a whole new game.
“I was really nervous,” she shared, reflecting on her first day of filming.
“But I had some great people on the cast who made me feel really comfortable. The girls there made me feel comfortable.”
Working alongside talents like Rebecca Ferguson, Greta Lee, and Kaitlyn Dever, the Chicago Sky forward said she quickly found her rhythm.
Beyond easing her nerves, the experience became a masterclass in presence and professionalism.
“Just being able to work with the best,” she said, “I learned so much.”
She also shared a piece of advice from Idris Elba, who tells her to “stay confident, be yourself, and have fun.”
