Jon Stewart has recently escaped the public wrath of President Donald Trump, unlike his rival late-night hosts.
And “The Daily Show” host thinks he knows why.
Stewart was asked on the latest episode of “The Weekly Show” podcast why Trump “hasn’t tried to cancel you” like he has Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon.
“There’s no question. It’s a function of relevance. I don’t think we are on the radar,” Stewart replied.
Stewart recalled his historical “experiences” of late-night “tweet fights” with the now-president, most notably when Trump posted in 2013 that the comedian was “a pussy,” a moment that Stewart said he took “great pride” in.
@caaataclysm Little Jon Stewart(?) Is a pussy, he would be hopeless in a debate with me!
“It’s absurd to even think about it,” Stewart admitted of the online clash, noting it was “obviously” before then-reality TV personality Trump “was the commander-in-chief of the United States.”
