An AFC matchup goes down on Sunday, October 5, as the Las Vegas Raiders are on the road to play the Indianapolis Colts at 1 p.m. ET, so continue reading for our Raiders vs. Colts prediction.
When it comes to pro football picks, our NFL Predictions are stellar.

Raiders Lose To Bears
Las Vegas is coming off a 25-24 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 4 to fall to 1-3 on the season, and has lost three straight games. The Raiders had a 54-yard game-winning field goal attempt by Daniel Carlson blocked in the dying seconds. In the loss, quarterback Geno Smith struggled as he went 14-for-21 for 117 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions, while rookie running back Ashton Jeanty had his breakout game, as he rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown, while adding two receiving touchdowns. Jeanty hasn’t had many holes to run through this season, but he does lead the league in broken tackles with 15. Smith now leads the league in interceptions with seven.
The Raiders are averaging 19.25 points per game, while the team is averaging 237 passing yards per game and 114.25 rushing yards per game. Defensively, Las Vegas is allowing 24.75 points per game, while opponents are averaging 237 passing yards and 102.75 rushing yards per game.
There is some good news on the injury front with CB Eric Stokes (knee) returning to practice on Wednesday. LT Kolton Miller (ankle) was placed on the injured reserve. TE Brock Bowers (knee) continues to be limited in practice, while backup TE Michael Mayer (concussion) was also limited.
Howard stuns the league by retiring
Indianapolis is 3-1 and suffered its first loss of the season, losing 27-20 on the road to the Los Angeles Rams, and is atop the AFC South. The Colts have been a surprise this season in large part due to Daniel Jones and the offense. Indianapolis is averaging 30.75 points per game while averaging 269.5 passing yards per game and 136.25 rushing yards per game. Defensively, they are allowing 20.75 points per game, while opponents are averaging 236.5 passing yards per game and 96 rushing yards.
In the loss to the Rams, Jones went 24-for-33 for 262 yards, while throwing for a touchdown and two interceptions. Jonathan Taylor, meanwhile, led the way on the ground, rushing for 76 yards on 17 carries, while AD Mitchell led the team in receiving as he had 96 yards on 3 receptions, but Michael Pittman Jr. was the lone player to catch a passing touchdown.
A stunning development took place on Tuesday, when starting corner Xavien Howard was placed on the reserve/retired list. The 32-year-old four-time Pro Bowler started in all four games, but had struggled against the Rams, mainly defending Puka Nacua, who went on to catch 13 passes for 170 yards.
Raiders vs. Colts Pick

Spread Pick for Raiders vs. Colts
- Colts -7 (-105)
Las Vegas has struggled on both sides of the ball, as the Colts should cruise to a lopsided win here. Jones did struggle in his last outing, but he should be much better here against the Raiders’ defense. Although Jeanty is starting to find his way, the Colts’ defense has been good at limiting the run this season and the Raiders’ offensive line is still a major problem. Expect Indianapolis to get out to an early lead and build off that to cruise to a double-digit win to cover the spread.
Take the Colts -7.
Over/Under Pick for Raiders vs. Colts
- Over 47.5 (-115)
The over is a great spot here as the Raiders’ defense has struggled this season, while both offenses have shown the ability to score plenty of points. Las Vegas has gone over 47.5 points in its last two games, while this season, the Raiders are 2-2 in hitting the over. Indianapolis, meanwhile, is 2-2 in hitting the over, but the Colts have proven they can score 30+ points against bad defenses to begin the year, which should continue here.
Take the over.
