Keisean Nixon seemed to take a shot at the star wide receivers he covered in each of the Packers’ first four games this season

The Green Bay Packers have had one of the more confusing starts to the 2025 campaign across the NFL. After taking down the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders in their first two games, they looked like the best team in the league. Since then, though, they have suffered an upset defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Browns before battling to a tie with the Dallas Cowboys.

A lot has gone right for the Packers, even though they have a 2-1-1 record through four games. One of those things has been the improved play of cornerback Keisean Nixon, and as he continues to play lockdown coverage on the outside for Green Bay, he sent a shot at each of the star wide receivers he’s helped slow down through four games.

Keisean Nixon Makes Fiery Instagram Posts

Nixon’s path to becoming a key piece of the Packers‘ secondary was not easy. He did not get selected in the 2019 NFL Draft and initially broke into the league with the Oakland Raiders. After spending three seasons with them as a special teams ace, Nixon found his way to Green Bay, and he gradually turned himself into the player he is now.

Initially, Nixon made a name for himself as a kick and punt return specialist for the Packers, earning a pair of All-Pro First Team selections in 2022 and 2023. Over time, though, Nixon got more snaps on defense, and he’s been a starter at cornerback for Green Bay since the 2023 season. With Jaire Alexander leaving this offseason, that has created an even bigger role for Nixon.

Despite being undersized for a boundary corner, Nixon has moved to the outside full-time this season, and he’s excelled, as opposing passers have a passer rating of just 86.4 when targeting him. Nixon has gone against stars like Amon-Ra St. Brown, Terry McLaurin, Jerry Jeudy, and George Pickens so far, and he took a shot at all of them in his latest posts on his Instagram story by placing an “X” over them in several photos where he is seen lined up across from them.

Nixon has certainly done a great job locking up the opposing team’s best pass catcher, but that hasn’t necessarily led to success for the Packers as a whole. For instance, Pickens racked up eight catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns, which led to Green Bay nearly suffering a horrific overtime defeat against Dallas in Week 4. He’s been good, but there is still room for improvement across the board for the team’s defense.

That starts with feasting on an advantageous matchup in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals, who have struggled mightily in the wake of losing Joe Burrow to a toe injury. This is the perfect get-right game for the Packers, and they will be expected to destroy the Bengals when they take the field next. Kickoff for this contest is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, as Green Bay will be looking to earn its third victory of the season.
