Stephen Curry Just Turned the Warriors Into a Family Business — and the NBA Won’t See It Coming. lt

Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors host family reunion, signing Seth Curry in free agency originally appeared on The Sporting News

Stephen Curry and his younger brother, Seth Curry, have seen the strings of their careers frequently become intertwined. A lifelong connection is shared between players who share a last name (and often a number, in this case) and a family legacy. Now, the two will not only share a namesake, but also a uniform, as the Golden State Warriors reportedly signed Seth in free agency, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

For Seth, his career has been ceacelessly compared to his brother — the greatest shooter of all time and no-doubt future Hall-of-Famer. That’s simply the nature of sharing a bloodline with one of the most prolific and influential players to ever set foot on a basketball court. Two players with similar shooting profiles — both are specialists from beyond three-point range — the brother’s professional careers have taken drastically different trajectories to reach this point in 2025.

Steph Curry has been a Golden State lifer. He was drafted to the Warriors in 2009 and has been retained by the same team for every season of his 16 year (and counting) NBA career. Seth Curry is a journeyman. A plug-and-play mercenary whose introduction to Golden State will begin his tenure for a tenth different NBA team.

That’s not to suggest that Seth won’t be a valuable asset to the Warriors in 2025. He’s a career 43.3% shooter from distance, who knocked through an even more impressive 45.6% of his attempts last season with Charlotte — where Dell Curry serves as a commentator with the Hornets.

Two brothers, two deadly weapons from the outside, finally sharing the floor as teammates, not as adversaries. Curry to Curry, delivering a spicy dish from corner to corner, from three to shining three. A Golden State franchise already renowned for its precision from beyond the arc just added another weapon to their arsenal.

The 35-year old Seth Curry will serve as a three-point specialist off the bench for Golden State.
