The Chicago Bears are heading into the bye week sitting at 2-2, where they’re riding a two-game winning streak. But before taking the week off, the Bears practiced Tuesday at Halas Hall, where there were some notable injury updates.
Cornerback Kyler Gordon (hamstring), linebacker T.J. Edwards (hamstring) and tight end Colston Loveland (hip) were all spotted at Tuesday’s practice ahead of the bye week, according to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin. Right tackle Darnell Wright (elbow), right guard Jonah Jackson and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee) weren’t spotted at practice.
Gordon has been sidelined since the summer with a hamstring injury, and he’s primed for his season debut in Week 6 against the Washington Commanders. Edmunds has appeared in just one game this season back in Week 2 before reaggravating his hamstring injury. He’s been sidelined ever since. But with a couple of weeks to heal up, he could also be primed for a return.
Loveland suffered a hip injury during a Week 3 win against the Dallas Cowboys, and he missed last week’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. But he appeared close to a return then, and it sounds like he’ll be back in action come Week 6’s prime-time contest.
The Bears have been battling injuries throughout the first month of the season, but it sounds like they’re finally getting some good news as some key starters should be back in action when Week 6 kicks off next week.
