Karrueche Tran is “having fun” dating after being romantically linked to Deion Sanders.

The 37-year-old Claws actress appeared as a guest on the What’s Next with J. Ryan podcast on Thursday, Aug. 28, where she made it clear that she’s in a great situation when it comes to her love life.

Joined by her longtime friend, singer and actress Christina Milian, the ladies and Ryan talked about the troubles of dating within the industry.

“Is she dating right now?” Ryan asked of Tran, adding, “I saw that you took a liking into football recently.”

The trio laughed at his sly line of questioning.

“Hey! Touchdown!” Milian added, as Ryan jokingly admitted he was unsure of “how far” he could go digging into the details.

Smiling, Tran confirmed, “Yeah, I’m dating.”

When asked by Ryan if she was “having fun,” Tran answered without hesitation.

“Yeah,” she replied, still beaming. “If I wasn’t having fun, I wouldn’t be in it.”

Tran then changed her tune to be a bit more serious to describe where she stands with relationships at this stage in her life.

“I’m at a point in my life, like, I know what I want. I’ve dated a lot. I’ve done a lot. I’ve did this, did that. Young, old. And so, if I wasn’t happy and content, and feeling good in my situation, I’m not wasting my time,” she said.

She continued, “I don’t have the time for it. I rather be at home, namaste, chile, in bed at 9 o’clock doing my own thing if I’m not happy.”

Tran concluded with a smirk, adding, “So yeah, I’m in a good place.”

Sanders’ name was not mentioned in the podcast conversation, but he and Tran first sparked dating rumors in July 2025 when she appeared multiple times in footage produced by his son Deion Sanders Jr.’s company Well Off Media, sitting emotionally at the former NFL star’s bedside as he underwent surgery for the removal of his bladder.

On July 31, Coach Prime appeared on retired NFL player Asante Samuel’s podcast Say What Needs To Be Said, where he dodged questions about Tran following her cameo in the clip.

“Don’t kill the messenger,” Samuel, 44, said. “Everyone seen Karrueche Tran by your side during your hospital visit. Everyone wants to know what that friendship is.”

Instead of confirming or denying, the Colorado Buffaloes head coach flashed a wide smile and pretended the connection on their call was too poor to proceed.

Tran dated Chris Brown in an on-and-off relationship from 2011 to 2015, and was previously linked to Rob Kardashian.

Sanders was engaged to Tracey Edmonds before the couple announced their split in a joint statement in December 2023.
