Meghan Markle shared a photo of herself with her two kids, Archie and Lilibet, and in it, there’s a nod to a special symbol that she talked about in a 2022 interview with The Cut.
The Duchess of Sussex uploaded a picture of her holding her two kids and left a sweet message to her kids in the caption. “Happy Mother’s Day! Cheers to juggling it all with joy,” she wrote. “And to these two gems – who still attempt to climb ‘mama mountain,’ smother me with kisses, and make every day the most memorable adventure….being your mom is the greatest privilege of my life.”
She ended the caption writing, “I, too, ‘love you more than all the stars in all the sky, all the raindrops, and all the salt on all the french fries in all the world.'”
But eagle-eyed followers will notice two palm trees in the background of her photo. Those palm trees have been there since the Duke and Duchess moved to California in 2020 after stepping down as senior members of the royal family. Markle spoke with New York Magazine‘s The Cut and said that when the two of them were looking for a home, Prince Harry noticed those two palm trees close together.
“One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees. See how they’re connected at the bottom? He goes, “‘My love, it’s us.'” She says that when her son Archie sees the two trees, he greets them every time. “And now, every day when Archie goes by us, he says, ‘Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa.'”
The palm tree symbol also appears on the crest for her new lifestyle brand, As Ever. A source close to the family told People, “The distinct shape enclosing the birds and tree was intentionally designed to create a unique and personal emblem.”
