Whoopi Goldberg is pushing for the United States to invoke the 25th Amendment after President Donald Trump’s controversial speech at the United Nations General Assembly.
During a discussion on “The View” about the speech, in which Trump went off the cuff for nearly an hour after a teleprompter mishap, the cohosts poked fun at the president for blaming his viral escalator incident on the U.N., and criticized his comments on immigration and climate change in front of the world’s leaders.
Host Sara Haines called the speech a “trainwreck” while Joy Behar and Sonny Hostin called it an “embarrassment.” Behar added: “The world is laughing at us.”
Goldberg said the speech may have raised concerns from the rest of the world: “I don’t think the world is laughing at us. They are really worried for us.”
She then tried to make reference to an amendment, which Hostin eventually pointed out as the 25th Amendment, which addresses what happens if the president or vice president of the United States dies, resigns, becomes incapacitated or is otherwise unable to fulfill their duties.

“They questioned Biden’s competence. If Biden had acted like this, I would have said, ‘Yeah, take him and sit him down somewhere,'” Goldberg continued. “But this was not presidential, and this was not helpful.”
