The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday three people have been convicted of crimes related to possession of child sex assault materials stemming from investigations that started in 2024.
“In the spring of 2024, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force conducted an operation targeting suspects who possessed CSAM material,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. “Through this operation, several search warrants were served at residences within Mesa County which led to the recovery of sexually explicit materials involving minors.”
Anthony Svaldi, 48, of Loma, was sentenced to 10 years to life supervised intensive sex offender probation, 90 days in jail, and must register as a sex offender after being convicted of sexual exploitation of a minor.
River Kincaid, 26, of Grand Junction, was sentenced to eight years in the Department of Corrections followed by eight years parole for sexual exploitation of a child, plus four additional years in the Department of Corrections and three years parole for distributing a controlled substance. Kincaid will also have to register as a sex offender.
Luther Milner, 25, of Grand Junction, was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections and four years of sex offender supervised intensive probation, as well as having to register as a sex offender after being convicted of sexual exploitation of a child and tampering with physical evidence.
“These convictions wouldn’t be possible without the partnership of the Twenty-First Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and fellow local and state law enforcement agencies,” the release stated. “We hope these convictions serve as a message that Child Sex Assault Materials (CSAM) and child sexual exploitation will not be tolerated in Mesa County.”
