The official cause of death for American Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, has been issued.

Kaye and Deluca, both 70, died at their Encino, Calif., home of multiple gunshot wounds that they sustained on July 10 at approximately 4:45 p.m., according to their death certificates, obtained exclusively by PEOPLE.

Deluca died within seconds of being shot, while Kaye, a music composer, died minutes after sustaining her gunshot wounds, the death certificates further revealed.

The manner of death for both Deluca and Kaye is listed as homicide.

Though their death certificates report that they sustained fatal injuries — which caused them both to die within minutes — on July 10, their date of death is recorded as July 14, at 4:14 p.m., the time they were found by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office previously told PEOPLE that the couple was pronounced dead at 4:14 p.m. local time on July 14.

Autopsies were performed on both Kaye and Deluca, which were used in determining the cause of death, the documents noted. Kaye’s death certificate — issued on July 23 — originally stated that an autopsy had not been undertaken. An amendment filed on Aug. 4 corrected that notation.

The couple was cremated on July 23.

On the day of their murder, July 10, Kaye and Deluca arrived home after a grocery run to find an intruder, a stranger with a baseball cap, gray shirt and black sandals, per a police affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.

Shortly thereafter, they were shot multiple times in the head, execution-style, with a gun that allegedly belonged to them, the LAPD and the Los Angeles District Attorney previously told PEOPLE.

The couple’s front door had been left unlocked and their alarm disabled, per the police affidavit.

Law enforcement received two 911 calls and visited Kaye’s and Deluca’s $4.5 million home more than once on July 10. However, it wasn’t until four days later, on July 14, that authorities discovered their bodies after a friend of Kaye’s called for a welfare check on the music industry heavyweights.

Kaye and Deluca’s killings shook the Encino neighborhood located in Los Angeles’s San Fernando Valley. On July 17 — three days after police discovered their bodies — 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian was charged with their killings.

Facing two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree residential burglary, a dazed-looking Boodarian arrived in a Van Nuys courtroom in a suicide gown on Wednesday, August 20, for his arraignment.

Judge Martin L. Herscovitz suspended the hearing and referred Boodarian to a mental health court for evaluation after he repeatedly failed to respond to the Judge. Boodarian’s public defender, Nancy Kolocotronis, told the court that Boodarian is allegedly suicidal.

Boodarian is scheduled to appear in mental health court on Sept. 3 in Hollywood. He’s still being held without bail.

Judge Herscovitz said Boodarian’s arraignment will hinge on the evaluation of his mental fitness, telling the court on Aug. 20 that he didn’t believe it was “fair” to continue without the suspect’s involvement.
