Behind Closed Doors: Prince Harry’s Secretive Kensington Stop Contrasts With His Absence From a Royal Milestone.x

Prince Harry reportedly visited Kensington Palace incognito during his trip to the UK despite missing a major royal event last week. The Duke of Sussex returned to his home country for four days, carrying out a series of engagements related to his charities and patronages.

He even met with his father, King Charles, at Clarence House last Wednesday before leaving the country the next day. However, despite the Duke missing the Duchess of Kent’s funeral this Tuesday, where the Royal Family showed a united front, he reportedly visited Kensington Palace last week to “personally pay his respects and offer condolences” to the Duke of Kent.

A source close to the Duke told Hello! magazine that he would have loved to see more people in England, but stressed that his schedule was tight.

They said: “His only regret was not being able to stay longer and see more people, but the meetings in Ukraine had been in the diary for a long time, and it mattered to him to be there in person to see the Invictus Games Foundation’s growing work and the progress at Superhumans.”

The source added: “The whole trip felt like a real success for everyone involved. His passion for his patronages and the causes he cares about hasn’t dimmed one bit – he’s already buzzing to get back and do more.”

On Tuesday, King Charles, the Prince and Princess of Wales and other senior royals gathered with the Duchess of Kent’s immediate family and friends for her requiem mass, a Catholic funeral.

It was the first royal funeral at Westminster Cathedral since its construction in 1903 and the first royal Catholic funeral at the cathedral in modern British history.

Katharine became the first member of the Royal Family to convert to Catholicism in more than 300 years.

Missing was the Queen, who pulled out of attending as she was recovering from acute sinusitis, but remains hopeful of being able to attend the royal elements of US President Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK which begins on Wednesday.

The disgraced Duke of York made a rare appearance outside the environs of Windsor, with his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York.
