Jimmy Fallon Defends Jimmy Kimmel as ‘Decent, Funny, and Loving,’ but Hints His Own Show Could Face the Same Shocking Fate.th

Jimmy Fallon Vows to Continue Covering Trump Amid Fears ‘That We’ll Be Censored,’ Stands by Jimmy Kimmel: ‘I Hope He Comes Back’

Jimmy Fallon is in Jimmy Kimmel‘s corner.

During his monologue on Thursday’s episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Fallon began by getting right to the point: “The big story is that Jimmy Kimmel was suspended by ABC after pressure from the FCC, leaving everyone thinking, WTF.”

After joking that he woke up to text messages from his father, who thought his show was canceled, Fallon showed his support to Kimmel.

“To be honest with you all, I don’t know what’s going on, and no one does. But I do know Jimmy Kimmel, and he’s a decent, funny and loving guy, and I hope he comes back,” Fallon said. “A lot of people are worried that we won’t keep saying what we want to say, or that we’ll be censored, but I’m going to cover the president’s trip to the UK, just like I normally would.”

With that, he went on a rant about President Trump, but every negative comment was replaced with a voiceover complimenting the president. For example, when Fallon began talking about Trump’s hair, a voiceover was heard saying it “looked better than Conrad’s from ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty.’” When mentioning Jeffrey Epstein, the voiceover replaced “Epstein” with “Goldblum.” After that sketch finished, however, he went back to mocking Trump without a voiceover.

The first guest of the night was Jude Law, who was asked about how his roles have predicted the future in the past. Law responded, “If there’s any truth in that, I hope I predict that you’re on the air tomorrow night, the night after that, and all the other good people that present these TV shows.”

On Wednesday, ABC pulled “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” off the air indefinitely, due to comments made by Kimmel about the suspected murderer of Charlie Kirk. After the decision was announced, Trump implied that Fallon’s late-night show was also in jeopardy.

“Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Wednesday (despite the fact that the show has not been canceled). “Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT”

This week wasn’t the first time Trump called out Fallon; in a slew of Truth Social posts in July, the president denied he was to blame for the end of “The Late Show,” and said that “The Tonight Show” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” are on the chopping block.

“Next up will be an even less talented Jimmy Kimmel, and then, a weak, and very insecure, Jimmy Fallon,” he wrote at the time. “The only real question is, who will go first? Show Biz and Television is a very simple business. If you get Ratings, you can say or do anything. If you don’t, you always become a victim. Colbert became a victim to himself, the other two will follow.”
