Prince Harry has once again become the center of royal controversy after formally requesting a complete reassessment of his security arrangements during visits to the United Kingdom. The move follows alarming reports that a “known stalker” allegedly came within feet of the Duke of Sussex on two separate occasions during his last trip to London — an incident that has reignited debate about his safety and his strained relationship with the British establishment.

According to The Telegraph, the stalker breached a secure zone at a central London hotel where Harry was attending the prestigious WellChild Awards on September 9. Shockingly, she was seen again just two days later near the Centre for Blast Injury Studies in west London, reportedly getting dangerously close to the Duke before being identified. While the palace and police have remained tight-lipped about the situation, sources close to Harry say the near-encounters left him deeply unsettled, reinforcing his belief that his current security measures are “inadequate and outdated.”

A source close to the Duke confirmed that Harry wrote a formal letter to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood shortly after her appointment, requesting a new risk assessment from the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) — the same body responsible for determining the security levels of senior royals and public figures in the UK. Interestingly, the letter was sent before the two stalking incidents took place, suggesting that Harry had already been concerned about potential threats and surveillance gaps.

This is not the first time Prince Harry has clashed with the British government over his security.
