📰 NEWS FLASH: Prince Harry’s sky “king” punchline about Trump on The Late Show is the unexpected moment everyone’s debating ⚡.th

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, humorously took aim at Donald Trump during a surprise appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, labeling the US President a “king” in a succinct 7-word critique. Harry featured in a comedy sketch that aired Wednesday night, portraying himself as he auditions to be a Hallmark movie “Christmas prince.”

In the segment, the duke roamed around the studio, jesting that he got lost while looking for an audition for the “Gingerbread Christmas Prince saves Christmas in Nebraska.”

When Colbert questioned why a real prince would want to star in such films, Harry retorted: “You Americans are obsessed with Christmas movies, and you’re clearly obsessed with royalty, so why not?” When Colbert contested the notion of an American “obsession,” Harry wittily responded: “Really? I hear you elected a king,” seemingly alluding to the “No Kings” protests aimed at the Trump administration.

Referring to CBS’ recent settlement with Mr. Trump, the duke jested that he would “do anything” to secure the part, stating: “I’ll record a self-tape, I’ll fly myself to an audition, settle a baseless lawsuit with the White House – all the things you people in TV do.”

Colbert retorted: “Hey, I didn’t do any of those things,” to which Harry quickly replied: “Maybe that’s why you’re cancelled.”, reports the Express. The sketch then morphed into a holiday spectacle, complete with trees and the sound of sleigh bells ringing, as Harry encouraged Colbert to “just believe.”

Colbert subsequently announced to Harry that he had “got the role” of “official Late Show prince of Christmas” to enthusiastic applause from the audience. The duo initially previewed the guest appearance in a video that included a popular Great British Bake Off audio clip on Wednesday.

Colbert’s additional guests included Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon and Irish actress and singer Jessie Buckley.

Wednesday’s visit marked the duke’s second Late Show appearance, following his previous January 2023 visit to promote his memoir Spare. Harry’s initial appearance on the program achieved a two-year viewership record and generated international headlines.

The announcement of Wednesday night’s appearance was also promoted by the Duchess of Sussex, who shared the preview clip on her Instagram story. Harry and Meghan have been bringing up their children in Montecito, California, since declaring they were stepping back as working members of the Royal family in January 2020.
