Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar found themselves at odds while discussing Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greeneâs behavior on Wednesdayâs episode of The View.
The cohosts clashed at the Hot Topics table during a conversation about Greeneâs recent CNN interview, wherein the Republican politician called Donald Trumpâs response to Rob Reinerâs death âclasslessâ and claimed that it caused a âmajor falloutâ among his supporters.
âWould you have guessed this time last year that Marjorie Taylor Greene was the canary in the coal mine?â Sunny Hostin posed to her cohosts. âI mean, would you have ever guessed that?â

âOnly if you believe in miracles,â Goldberg replied. âTo me, thatâs a miracle when somebody who goes from all the way over here has an epiphany and says, âYeah, they stopped me from doing what I wanted to do but, moreover, theyâre stopping my constituents and I donât like it,â you know?â
Behar, however, wasnât so sure of Greeneâs intentions. âYou give her too much credit maybe,â she said. âI mean, sheâs ambitious. Letâs not forget that Santa is bringing the Epstein files this week.â
Behar went on to suggest that Greene might be making these comments because she wants to run for political office again. Last month, the representative announced that sheâll be resigning from Congress on Jan. 5.
âEverybodyâs weakened in the Republican Party right now, theyâre not gonna win, she knows it, she wants to run for something else,â Behar said. Raising her hands, she added, âI mean, Iâm happy to have her on our side now, butâŠâ
Goldberg didnât share the same sentiment. âI donât know if sheâs on our side,â she replied. âIâm just saying, listen, I donât have to agree with everything you say, but I need you to be conscientious enough to know when your people â the people who voted you in â are saying to you, ‘Weâre suffering. And youâre seeing me as part of your family, who is also suffering.’â
The EGOT winner continued, âI know she made some dough, but something woke her a– up. Something woke her up. And Iâm happy that it did.â
Behar remained skeptical. âItâs called getting her reelected is what itâs called,â she said, to which Goldberg and their fellow cohosts quipped back, âSheâs not running for anything!â

But Behar still wasnât convinced. âWait and see what sheâs gonna do,â she said, raising her hands again.

The Viewâs conversation about Greene comes just over a month after she sat down on the show and praised the cohosts for chatting with her âin a very professional and kind wayâ during her visit.
“A lot of people wanted me to come on this show and say nasty things, all of us to fight,” she claimed. “I didn’t want to do that today.â
Greene added at the time that âpeople with powerful voices like me and you, especially women, we need to pave a new path” forward.
The View airs weekdays on ABC.
